Sorcery or just a bad travel agent?

It was with a great deal of surprise that Goliath found himself in the cafe.  Elisa had told him about it, of course, including about her encounter with a most unusual alternate counterpart to himself.   The multiverse continued to amaze him in all its forms.

But what forces had brought him here?  Surely, there had to be some sort of reason.  To think otherwise, to assume mere random happenstance, well, down that way led madness.  All things happened for a reason, or so he would like to believe.

But what was the reason now?
