"Is this place wheelchair friendly?" Bruce asked as he wheeled in, he was covered in paint and it was probably best not to ask why. He was in a stinking bad mood, had a headache the size of America, with as bad music as lower gotham. "Cause I need a shower and homes to far away"

"Sure," Jubilee went over, eyes summing him up as she offered some ibuprofen and a small glass of water. "I'll show you to the bathrooms... hey, do you know a small orange kitten? She likes to wear a little Bat cape? I think her name's Pika."

"Thanks" he smiled taking the tablets with a gulp. He looked at her letting his mind roam a moment "Yeah, real sweet little thing. Odd for me to say when I don't usually like cats...... but that one won me over"

"When you're through with your shower, do you think you could help an older version out? She's sick, but refuses to take any medicine from anybody but her master, who as dar as I can tell is an alternate you," she looked slightly troubled by this, even as she produced a key card.

"Pika's sick? Of course I'll help how every I can. Even if only a lap will be accepted" he said softly. "Thank you"

Jubilee smiled a little sadly.

"She's a bit too big for that now," she said, then stood behind him and gently pushed his wheelchair through the teleporter and into a small, wheelchair customized room.

"The shower's in there," She said, pointing to the bathroom. "To get back, just leave through the door, it's pretty automatic."

He nodded "Thank you" He smiled planning on rushing through his shower to get to helping the cat.

When he came out a small pile of fresh clothes were on the bed, along with a note that had a smily face on it.

He smiled at the clothes quickly changing, slipping the note in his pocket to stick on the notice board in the batcave. Before going back down.

Jubilee looked up as the Batman reentered, nodding greattfully and standing up from the side of a gigantic white tiger-like cat, who was breathing with some difficulty, eyes closed and tail curled.

"Hey. Feeling better?" she said, looking at him hopefully.

"I'm feeling much better" he said rolling over to her eyes on the cat "Wow......" he murmered to himself "So beautiful" its possible that could be mistake as a comment to Jubilee, but it really wasn't.

"Yeah. That's Pika. She's a little out of it," Jubilee said, understanding him and moving so he could go over to her. "I can't get much coherance out of her, except that she keeps telling me to leave her alone."

He rolled over to her smiling "Hey?" he said softly "Pika?" he cautiously offered a hand to the big cat, "How you feeling?"

There was a deep, weak rumble, then the cat's eyes opened slightly, revealing the soft old amber eyes he'd remember, though they were filed with a slightly milky film, then the ears perked.

-M...master,- she rumbled, trying her best to raise, legs shaking as she stood, then faltered and hit the floor with a deep thud.

-I... I'm sorry,- she panted, mouth opening as her head turned to the side, making it easing her labored breathing slightly.

"Oh no no don't get up" he said, some what surprised about understanding her, although, he did want to get closer so With some fidgeting he fell out of his chair and pulled himself over to the cat, sitting next to Pika on the floor. He cautiously stroked her "I can understand you" he said happily "But, you should be taking medicine"

She turned her head, putting it on his lap.

-I am old, Bruce. There is no medicine for that,- she purred softly, eyes slipping shut as she enjoyed his company.

He smiled stroking her head, "there may not be, but there are things to help you feel at ease, and comfortable" he said softly.

-Yes. But the girl.... porridge isn't....- she sighed and slumped, gathering her strength.

-She is not sure what to give. She is offering something... I can not tell what it is.-

He stroked her and smiled softly "Ok so for now you can rest....." he said softly "And tell me how you won me over... I didn't like cats before you" he smiled.

-When I was small? I idolized you,- she smiled softly. -And dressed the part. After you caught me fighting Joker... you decided it would be better I live with you. And after I was genetically reprogrammed I was able to be a real part of the team.-

Then she paused, sniffing him. -You... you know my little self? Is she with you?-

He smiled "I've met the little you, shes adorable, but she's not with me" he ran fingers through Pika's soft fur "Well in a physcial sense, she's been making me a happier person just with a thought of her"

The older Pika purred happily, if not weakly.

-That... that is good. I have rarely been far away from my Bruce since... since I joined his side,- she said dozedly, at times pausing to try and catch her breath. -I have never wanted to be.-

"I can't see that he'd want you to be" he smiled.

-Have... have you a Robin?- she said, blinking and trying to lift her head.

"Yes, he's........ a brat who thinks he doesn't need me" he smiled "But he's family" he said softly putting a hand under Pika's chin, helping her lift her head a little, looking into her eyes. "Like you......"

She smiled through her eyes, then lowered her head again, exauhsted and trembling slightly.

-He... he is a good boy,- she rumbled dozedly. -Grew up fine. Grew up to carry the torch.... good boy.-

"Can I get you anything, mister Wayne?" Jubee asked softly.
