Dog rocked slightly, his craggy face tender as he looked down at the tiny girl in his arms. Bethany had finally settled down and was now sleeping with her nose pressed against his chest, making tiny sighs with each breath.
He stroked his baby niece's soft hair, then sighed himself and sat back as he looked toward a corner of the living room. "Y'kin quit lurkin', Miss Vi, I know yer there."
