A fairly normal someone - looks like a college kid - wanders into the cantina, looking around curiously. Hope I got the coordinates right...

He's dressed up, comparatively, at least - as in, he's in slacks and a fairly nice shirt as opposed to a t-shirt and jeans. He waves awkwardly at the bartender. "Uh, hey."

"Senkefeen," says a dark-haired guy who is coming over to sit on a window seat and eat a little green cake. "Genetically engineered mutant soldiers, though they're a lot less soldierly than we clones."

"Oh..." He looks out at the valley. "Did you guys make all this? The carvings and everything?"

"No. We just moved in." The guy bites his cake and looks thoughtfully down at the river past the terrace. "Nobody's figured out who made it yet."

"Guess it isn't just Earth that can't keep track of who built what, huh?"

He grins. "I guess. I've never been to Earth, but if it's anything like any other human culture I've read about...." A cheery shrug of agreement.

"I don't think there's a way to stop human cultures being alike." After all, if being stuck in another dimension that makes absolutely no sense doesn't divorce you from human culture, why would something like space?

"Stuck in another dimension?" The guy's eyebrows go up. "Did you get stranded in the Nexus?"

"Trust me, the Nexus is practically home compared to where I ended up." He sighs. "Sorry, talking to myself."

"I do that too." The man's dark eyes hold concern. "You got away, right?"

"Yeah. Eventually, anyway." He shrugs. "Not without being changed, but nobody gets out of big events like that the same as when they went in, right?"

"Change is part of existing." The clone gives a slightly lop-sided smile.

"Right." He grins back; he can't help thinking that the clone reminds him of the Summer King.
