Old Bones, New Resolve

Old Pika moves about the room, slowly but surely. She purrs thunderously as she walks, keeping the tribbles and small children out of harm's way, trying to be useful for once. Her age is making it difficult, but she's determined.

- Come off there, little one, - she smiles and untangles baby Pika from some thread, nudging her gently as she gets up and runs off.

He laughed. "Fair enough. Ready?" he asked, preparing to serve again.

"Hit me." She crouched, on the alert.

He smiled and served, ready to duck again if he needed to.

The game waged fast and furious for several minutes... then ended as the puck went spinning off into space and ricocheted off a wall.

"Whoa... did I do that?" Logan looked around, trying for innocent as Bob and Larry chuckled and set their scattered chess men back up.

"Nervous?" he teased.

"Of what?" She snorted, eyes twinkling.

"Don't know," he shrugged and pulled out another puck.

"Why'd ya figure I'd be nervous?" She crouched slightly, ready and watching.

"Because you were concerned with gouging out my masculinity with a air hockey paddle," he grinned cheesily.

"I'm sorry." She paused and quirked an eyebrow. "You got masculinity?"

"I've got quite a bit. Or I had," he said smugly, grinning.

"Wonder how I could'a missed that." She reached for her mug.
