"Marco?" called a timid young boy walking around arms out infront of him, his eyes blind folded "Marco?" he tried again. He was starting to worry he'd not heard a polo in sometime. The boy he'd been playing with, a nice boy by the name of Scottie had said this would be a fun game. He'd yet to decide how this was fun. He was scared, blinded by the blindfold, and had no idea where his new friend was. "Marco?" he tried again. Unaware Scottie was soundly asleep in a room at the lunatic cafe having lost the boy in the cantina. "Marco?" he said lip trembling. "Mar.....mar....Marco?"

She pulled him out, then gently dusted him off, only to pull him protectively close as Blade suddenly zipped through in the boys' wake. "Her ya gotta watch out for."

"Ok" he said softly "Sorry I'm a little jittery"

"I know." She ruffled his hair gently, then led him over to the window seat and plunked down, taking Bethany out of the front of her shirt and setting the tiny girl on her lap so she could look around.

Big blue eyes looked at Spencer, then creased in a very cute friendly grin.

"Nice people here" he said softly looking at the child.

"Blade there's a younger me. She ain't ben around people long enough t' be really civil yet." Logan smoothed Bethany's reddish curls as the little brown baby cooed to Spencer.

He nodded "Hmm" he murmered, "How old?" his attension was on the child.

"Four months." She rubbed the baby's back and was rewarded with another grin.

"Can I hold?" he asked cautiously.

"Sure, darlin'. Jes' set with yer back t' the window there 'n hold outcher arms."

Quickly following the instruction he held his arms out ready.

And she gently set the baby into them, chuckling as Bethany wriggled excitedly and cooed and smiled, trying with her whole tiny being to make friends. "Watch out, she's squirmy."

He smiled holding firmly "Shes cute"

"Thanks, darlin'." Logan grinned, her expression showing mother pride.

He smiled softly at her as he tried to not drop her, a feat he found he needed to focus on.

"Calm down, BJ," said Logan softly, and the tiny girl stilled and looked up at Spencer with big blue eyes.

"Maybe you should take her back" he murmered

"Y'sure? She'll be good now." She put out her hands to do so, but watched his face to make sure it was what he really wanted.

He watched the baby a moment and nodded "Yes, I, maybe I should go"

"Alright." She said softly, scooping Bethany into her arms. "Butchyer welcome back here anytime, kid. 'N yer meals're whatever 're on me."

He smiled "I really like you" he said softly.

"Like you too, kid." Her grin showed wolfish teeth, but wasn't frightening in any way.

He smiled leaning over to gingerly hug her.

Her answering hug was strong and gentle, motherly and protective.

And came with a free baby kiss from Bethany.

He blushed "Thanks" he said softly "Your nice"

"Not always, darlin'." She let him go and then gently wiped the baby slobber off his cheek as Bethany wriggled and smiled at him.
