There was a swish and a slight flash, and then Albus was standing near the bar with Fawkes on his shoulder and a young woman at his side. He blinked as always at the sudden change in scenery, then looked around with a smile to see if he could see anyone that he recognized before turning to Victor. "How do you feel, my dear?"

"Um...." Mary looked into it thoughtfully. "I don't know. I don't know how the people washers work, either. Guess I'll have to ask a nerd 'n hope I, like, understand the reply."

She laughed softly, nervously. "Yeah. People washers? Like...they ain't like showers back home 'm guessin'?"

"They look like 'em." She looked around, then closed the dishwasher and told it to run. "But there's no water, just a tingle and maybe a spritz of whatever you wanna smell like."

Shiver. It sounded too 1984-hidden-camera-like for her tastes. "Man, I'd feel weird wi' that."

"I felt weird the time I went in there 'n pressed all the buttons." She hopped up to sit on the counter and swing her feet.

"Eek, sounds scary." Nod-nod. She leaned against the counter, lightly.

"Nah. I think it was just the combination of Grandpa's 'Stetson' 'n Cassie's 'Primrose' smells mixed with my peachy one. I nearly hurled." She sniggered.

Tiny giggle. And she thought about it. It'd be cool if it was an of-course-you-can-be-fully-clothed machine. "In'erestin' scents."

"They're alright." She shrugged. "Grandpa's smells pretty good, but the stuff Wolvie uses smells better."

"I like smelling like a peach." Mary grinned, then looked toward the terrace doors. "Hey, you wanna hug a Wolvie? Not Logan, but a guy one."

She laughed. Then looked shy. "Ummmmm."

Boys were scary.

"Maybe?"

"He's not scary or anything. He's just like the coolest grandpa type old fart you'll ever meet. 'N he smells good," Mary assured her earnestly.

Lip-bite. "'Kay."

"We don't gotta." The younger girl shrugged cheerfully. "Hey, are you tired yet? Did Cassie show you the guest room?"

"'M sleepy. An' she didn't." :D

"Oh he rocks." Mary took a flying leap off the counter and led the way down the hallway. "Here, this is the unused one. Want me to run 'n grab you somethin' to sleep in?"

She followed carefully, looking around. "Whichever's most convenient."

"Huh?" Mary stopped bouncing around and cocked her head.

"I mean, I don't need somethin', but clean clothes'd be nice, but I mean..."

"Oh. Gotcha." She was gone in a swirl of breeze.

The room was furnished with a big squishy chair, a really beautiful handmade desk, and a bed with an incredibly comfortable mattress.

She smiled, let her eyes relax as she took in the details of the room. It was nice to let herself just exist.

And then Mary was back, holding out a huge baggy shirt and a pair of plaid PJ pants.

She accepted the clothes. "Thank y' kindly."

Mary grinned and turned to go. "You're welcome. Have a good night, huh? And don't worry about any sounds on the terrace. Opa sleeps out there 'n even if he didn't there's nothing to get us."
