There was a swish and a slight flash, and then Albus was standing near the bar with Fawkes on his shoulder and a young woman at his side. He blinked as always at the sudden change in scenery, then looked around with a smile to see if he could see anyone that he recognized before turning to Victor. "How do you feel, my dear?"

Cassie smiled at her reassuringly and adjusted the blanket to be sure she was politely covered, then nodded as Mary sat up and bowed her head. "Everybody ready?"

"Yup." Mary closed her eyes and contained a smirk.

"Mmhmm." She was very certain to not-look anyway. She was a shy, nervous girl, really.

Her eyes rested on her hands, against the tablecloth.

Cassie's prayer was more like talking to someone that she knew rather than a set of words to be repeated. She thanked Him for the food and for her family, and for Mmlon's sleeping, and then thanked Him for her guest too and asked that He watch over her and help her with what was going on in her life.

That done, she looked up and smiled at Victor, even though she could tell that feeding Nathan was causing her some discomfort. "Would you like to cut the roast, Victor?"

"Slice the table ONCE, 'n I get..." muttered Mary.

Cassie chuckled and kicked her gently under the table.

That surprised her. She tilted her head as she listened. Smiled softly to herself. It was nice.

"S-sure. Never done that 'fore, though. I mean, never cut into somethin' this big." Blush-flush-nervousgirl. She took a knife and fork. "How does this...?"

"Like bread," offered Mary. "Just, like, keep your fingers away from the blade."

She nodded, cut carefully (also clumsily because it was different cutting meat). The slices were a bit uneven.

"You're doing fine." Cassie smiled and nodded for Mary to hold out her plate. "Thanks."

She very meticulously plopped some dinosaur onto the plate. Not poorly mannered, though.

"Thanks!" Mary gave her a cheeky grin and put salad on Cassie's plate, since Cassie only had one hand to use.

She smiled at her, cut a very small piece for herself.

"Anythin' else, y'all?"

"No. Thanks." Cassie offered her the lemonade as Mary attacked her roast like a starving wolf... only with cutlery.

She drank just slow enough to be polite. Because she was really very thirsty.

Cassie watched her with concern. "You want some water?"

"Please." She stood. "Where is it?"

"In the tap." She pointed to the kitchen sink. "Don't worry, it's good. Just watch out, because it's also cold."

"Thanks." She turned on the faucet, placed her glass underneath it.

The water was cold. Mountain spring cold. It caused the glass to fog up slightly as it filled.

She shivered slightly, grinned. Then she turned off the water and drank it down (quickly-quickly) before refilling it and heading back to the table.

Mary stared at her. "Dude... didn't that give you a brain freeze?"

She wrinkled her nose. "A bit. Needed th' rehydration more, though."

The thirteen year old rubbed the bridge of her nose at thought of brain freezes, but then gave her a cheesy grin and turned to Cassie. "So, today I learned about what kidneys do. It was, like, a hands on class, so I won't go into detail, but Jubal turned greeen, 'n Robbie thought it was great. Jack... I don't know what Jack thought, if he was. I'm still not sure if he ever does think."

She listened politely, with a small laugh. Oh, how she hated biology classes.

She would say 'Ew, dude, that's creepy', but she felt as though interrupting wouldn't be proper.

And then Mary glanced her way, including her in the conversation as Cassie chuckled and peeked under the blanket at Nathan.

She relaxed slightly, picking up on the physical cue. "Man oh man. Gotta love bio." She paused, decided that mentioning dissections would not be proper dinnertime conversation. "...Freshman year of high school, one of m' friends wore fishnets t' class. Well, he wore 'em un'er shorts."
