Bringing a friend to the cantina. ((locked to [livejournal.com profile] victormakesart))

((note to self: concurrent with this, this, and this thread in [livejournal.com profile] the_other_rock))

There was a swish and a slight flash, and then Albus was standing near the bar with Fawkes on his shoulder and a young woman at his side. He blinked as always at the sudden change in scenery, then looked around with a smile to see if he could see anyone that he recognized before turning to Victor. "How do you feel, my dear?"

She smiled, then picked up the baby gently, carefully, looking to Cassie. What shall she do with the little darling?

At the subject of saying Grace, Victor looked up again. Partially, it was because 'Grace' was the name of her last choir director. Secondly was because it wasn't a ritual that she tended to take part in. She was raised Catholic, and her parents never said Grace. She knew how, in theory, but it was quite the interesting subject. Then she glanced at the roast. Dude it was a dinosaur.

She handed her the baby very carefully, then smiled. "Oh, no. It'd be cool. Been a while..."

She still couldn't get over the dude factor of that.

Victor looked away from the two (because it's impolite to look at such things) and stepped to the couch, gently extracting herself from the Lonnie-blanket (fold him, lay him flat?) and spreading him soft-careful over the couch.

Another snicker, and she stood behind a chair. She would glance at someone to ask if she had permission to be seated, but she didn't think it right to ask permission of someone five years younger than her, and she couldn't look at Cassie because she was doing the baby-feeding thing. So she just assumed that she had permission, and pulled the chair a bit, then sat. Awkward grin.

"Mmhmm." She was very certain to not-look anyway. She was a shy, nervous girl, really.

Her eyes rested on her hands, against the tablecloth.

That surprised her. She tilted her head as she listened. Smiled softly to herself. It was nice.

"S-sure. Never done that 'fore, though. I mean, never cut into somethin' this big." Blush-flush-nervousgirl. She took a knife and fork. "How does this...?"

She nodded, cut carefully (also clumsily because it was different cutting meat). The slices were a bit uneven.

She very meticulously plopped some dinosaur onto the plate. Not poorly mannered, though.

She smiled at her, cut a very small piece for herself.

"Anythin' else, y'all?"

[identity profile] victormakesart.livejournal.com 2007-05-31 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"Thank y' very much."

She drank just slow enough to be polite. Because she was really very thirsty.

"Please." She stood. "Where is it?"

[identity profile] victormakesart.livejournal.com 2007-05-31 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"Thanks." She turned on the faucet, placed her glass underneath it.

She shivered slightly, grinned. Then she turned off the water and drank it down (quickly-quickly) before refilling it and heading back to the table.

She wrinkled her nose. "A bit. Needed th' rehydration more, though."
