There was a swish and a slight flash, and then Albus was standing near the bar with Fawkes on his shoulder and a young woman at his side. He blinked as always at the sudden change in scenery, then looked around with a smile to see if he could see anyone that he recognized before turning to Victor. "How do you feel, my dear?"

At the term 'code', Victor had to take a few deep breaths. Code. Not like in the movies where they implant numbers into your skin so that it shows up under the proper light. No, no. Code must be something else.
"Thankee."

"I still think that has to taste good, Ama," noted Ben, watching the card with thoughtful brown eyes.
"Yer not eatin' my key, runt." Logan shook her head at him and turned to walk back to the bar.
no subject
"Aye, yeah. 'S not a good thin' t' eat keys." A careful, slow spin.
no subject
"Shall we?" The grey-bearded man watched as Logan put the key away, then gestured that Victor and Ben should precede him through the door.
no subject
"Sounds good, sir." She stepped through the door tentatively, studying the door-frame with idle curiosity. "Thank y'."

Ben blinked. "Stinky teleporter. I like the jump toobs better."
"I don't think Fawkes or my stomach would appreciate the jump tubes," said Albus, remembering what he'd heard Sam saying about them.
no subject
"Ah, yes? How d' those work then?"

She followed, because she was good at that!

"Ah, here we are." Albus stopped and tapped politely on a door.

She would fidget anxiously, but she had a baby in her arms. Which was good.

"Albus. Come on in," said the lovely black woman who opened the door. "Hi, Ben."
"Hi!" He grinned. "This is Victor. She's my friend!"

Victor dipped her head shyly. "'M pleased t' meetcha, miss."

Albus handed her the honey, then knelt next to the babies and smiled at them. "Hello, Nathan. My, you've grown since that picture was taken, haven't you?"
Ben looked at Victor a little anxiously. "You're not gonna be afwaid of Lonnie, are you?"
no subject
She stepped (careful-careful) next to Albus.
She looked back at the genius-child, equally anxious for a brief moment. "'Pends...who's Lonnie, an' is he scary?"

Albus watched for a moment, then went to talk to Cassie in the kitchen, leaving the young people to get acquainted.
"Siddown?" Ben looked up at Victor. "Then you can get Nafen too 'n Lonnie can hug us."
((*Feels guilty for subjecting poor Victor to so many characters at once.* That's all of them, I promise))

She thought about happy things, at least the best that she could. Happy-daydream-smooth-glass-joy-field-lightening. She knelt down next to the two, cradling Ben gently-gently.
